LG Optimus F6

The Good

This phone is fast, insanely fast. This speed is provided by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, which is well above the industry standard. The F6 also has a full gigabyte of RAM to further enable that speed. It also sports a large screen, but doesn't have the resolution other phones of this class. It has an amazing usage time of 19 and a half hours, but when on standby that battery life is less than industry standard. The F6 also has a microSD slot that is able to hold up to 32 GB on top of it's 4 GB built-in memory.

The Decision

This phone is a decent one, but definitely not the best out there. It is a little over priced ($290 on it's own) for what's all in the package, but is only $50 with most 2-year agreements. So for the contract price, try it out and you will probably love the phone, but not the battery. If you need a longer battery life, just come into FixAllCell and we'll fix that for you right away!

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Already?

The Rundown

Samsung has leaked out that they might rush their creation of the Samsung Galaxy S5 because of less than expected Galaxy S4 sales. This isn't really a surprise because the high-end phone market has been slowing down overall. Even though the Galaxy S4 sold over 20 million units, the phone giant says that was significantly below their mark. Due to this, the new Galaxy S5 might be announced formally in January 2014.

Upcoming Features

The facts above aren't certain and final, but can be in the next couple of months. The few details that are available to the public are almost too good to believe anyways. Samsung is talking about incorporating an overpowered 64-bit octa-core processor! That's at least four times more powerful than the average computer used in offices and homes across the world. If that's not enough, there's a rumor of a 16 megapixel camera and a metal chassis for this monstrosity.

We don't know and can't confirm these rumors true, but if they are this will definitely be the best phone in the market without a doubt. If you have any questions or repairs on your current phone that need to be done, come to us at FixAllCell!

LG G2 review

An amazing phone

The basic gist about this phone is that it is utterly amazing! Coming in with a full 1080x1920 resolution screen, which is 1080p HD. It doesn't stop there either, because it has a quad-core processor with each core processing at 2.2 GHz. With that processing power, it can connect to an HDTV and output 1080p without any issues. That feature comes if you have the microUSB connector that converts it to HDMI. The storage on this phone is unbeatable because it has 32 GB built-in the phone. The camera on the back can also take pictures up to 13 megapixels! Without a doubt this phone is for anyone with a load of cash.

The bad and the ugly

Alas, therein are the issues. The phone costs around $750. Then to add to the shock, there is no SD card slot. There are only two issues we've found and we have more to tell if you stop by FixAllCell for all of your cell phone needs. We can answer any question that you have about cell phone technologies and the best upcoming features in the industry.

Smart phones for Earthquake Tracking?

Scientists have always been way behind the earthquakes when it comes to tracking them, and sometime way off. But a new idea has sprung up that is definitely worth some thought and some serious credit. The Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America have been trying to find a way to track earthquakes in real-time for decades, but the idea just recently hit them to us something that is in most people's pockets already. That's right, smart phones! The piece that actually tells whether the phone is on a side or upright is the only piece really needed. That one piece is called the accelerometer, and it is sensitive enough to detect earthquakes of magnitude five or higher.

Then the issue comes up of whether or not people would allow the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America access to their devices. Would you allow these scientists access to your smart phone for a good cause, or is it going a little too far? We'd love to hear your feedback and hear whether or not you support this endeavor from the scientific community. So if you want to find out more about what smart phones can do, come see us in-store or call us!

Cortana for you Windows Phone?

So Microsoft is going super-geek apparently. For all their previous Windows Phones they haven't had anything like iPhone's Siri or Google's Now service. Lookout though! They have a woman from one of the best selling game series ever created. If you guessed Cortana from Halo, you got it right! It is a step ahead of their competition as well, in the sense that Cortana will learn and adapt with what you usually search for and 'hopefully' provide results closer to what you want! Technology keeps advancing, and we at FixAllCell believe it is cell phones that are leading the need for more.
Just imagine if this is really the case! Then Microsoft would have a mass of people flooding to them from the Android and iPhone groups. If they can get the way Cortana adapts correctly that is. We say this because Cortana could be sending information to the Bing servers about your search habits and yet again, we have another example of our privacy invaded and given to the highest bidder.
Other than privacy being at stake here, we'd like to see your views on this. Is it another government conspiracy, or just a legitimate way to better assist people. If you want to test out the other virtual assistants, stop by our store and we'll let you have a test run of Siri and Google Now.

Bending Phones?

Are you blown away by technology enough, because Samsung doesn't. Samsung is now done prototyping and is showing off a bendable phone. It doesn't stop there either, because the first phone their giving this privilege to might be the Samsung Galaxy Note 3! Now here's the sad part of that unveiling. Samsung has yet to announce when it will be sold commercially.

When we read that this was even a possibility, we had to put our eyeballs back in their sockets. Then we saw that the release was to be announced, and we tried thinking why Samsung would unveil something as amazing as this. It doesn't make sense and we need some feedback on this, so please post your thoughts in the comment section below and let's have a debate! It's an incredible piece of technology and needs to be everywhere so that Samsung actually makes this a reality for the average person.

Then again if the screens bends, won't it bend away from your finger? Could this be why there's issues with releasing it quite yet?If you have more questions or want to see the video, click here. If you want to see Samsung's other great products, visit our store!

Moto X Troubles

There's definite issues with the newest addition to the Motorola family if they want the Moto X to compete with the other latest phones on the market. The biggest one being that the camera's quality is more hit and miss than a steady good or bad. One picture could be spot on and beautiful, and then the next is absolute garbage compared to the phone's competition. Another fallback of this phone is the fact that the Android version of this is 4.2.2. Yes it's Jelly Bean, but it won't be featuring Android KitKat 4.4 or the latest update to Jelly Bean. The Jelly Bean 4.3 update has already been released and has been available for a while. While it is boasting a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, it falls behind its competition because only AT&T is going to be the initial carrier. The less spread you have means the worse the sales will be, even if you have the same speed as a low-end laptop. Motorola has made some improvements upon the Moto X since it was announced though. Software updates to the phone since it's announcement has entirely changed the camera's performance, according to Brian Klug. If you click on his name you can actually see the difference in the pictures before and after the updates.Just remember that if any questions or repairs are needed with the Moto X once it's released, just come to us!

The New iPhones

So which phone is best for the budget-minded iPhone fanatic? Could it be the latest and greatest iPhone 5s? Then again there is the iPhone 5c, which usually comes a bit cheaper, but at the price of durability. Then you could always stick with the iPhone 5 or 4s, going for the tried and true. This is a dilemma people are having right now with all the pros and cons of all three devices.Let's put the prices out there first. The 5s is usually $199 with a two-year contract. The 5c $99 with the same contract, and then the 4s is free on this contract. Price-wise the 4s is the way to go, but what about the time left for support on the 4s? Seeing as how the iPhone 3g went obsolete three years ago, the 3gs can expect this iOS 7 update to be it's last. So we can expect about a year and a half at most of support for the 4s. That's obviously shorter than a two -year contract, which is a major problem. Then we have the 5c, which has been notorious for it's not-so-durable case. That can always be fixed by putting on a nice outer case, so if you're looking for at this from a perspective similar to this, 5c is your answer. However it is considerably slower then the 5s, and for a majority of the world, speed is everything! Our answer is the 5s, if you can afford it. Our advice is to come in to our store and see us if you have any questions about which would be best for you. Just remember, we can still service any of these phones!

The Best Combo Yet?

So which smart phone is the best phone out there? We think it's the next Samsung Galaxy! We bet that many of you are eager to test the Galaxy Note 3, and the release date is set for September 25 for most of the world! Sadly the U.S. isn't involved in the initial release date, but is scheduled shortly after. There is also plenty of technology in the additional things that the Galaxy Note 3 can have, like the one of the world's only smart watches at this time.

There are no words that can describe the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 + Gear and Samsung's focus on having the next Note being the got-to for literally everything. This has the smart watch to help with your fitness routine and tell time, weather and several other things. What makes this combo of watch and phone irresistible is that they sync together.

With this technology, you can say good-bye to the days of measuring your heart rate and timing yourself. The gear that can come with this does that and stores it for you! If you need any help figuring out your newest phone or hopefully the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, then come into our store! We can fix several mobile phones, and are soon adding this amazing piece of equipment to the list!

Google Wallet... The next PayPal?

Good news for AT&T, T-MOBILE and VERIZON customers! There is a new software for phones, compatible with more headsets. It's called “Google Wallet” for Android devices. The new application will be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and up. Google Wallet doesn't require NFC which is a feature most phones don't have. If you want to send money to another person in the U.S.A. then you can send the person money via e-mail, however money sent from credit/debit cards will incur a small fee. It is our opinion that this will make all transactions for small businesses easier. Google Wallet also adds the ability to read and add loyalty cards based on the bar-code or card number. The app also works better with Google Search and Google Offers when it comes to finding deals.

There are some limits to this awesome application. According to AllThingsD, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon subscribers will not be able to use Google Wallet's NFC functions to make in-store purchases. The updated version of Google Wallet is expected to be available from the Google Play Store. There appears to be a iPhone version of this on the horizon as well! Let's keep our fingers crossed!

If you have any questions please feel free to come into our store or stop by Google Play Store and be a part or the app revolution.

New phone from Nokia, affordable for anyone!

Every time you hear about a new phone coming out, like the newest version of the iPhone, you have to wonder sometimes about all the hype on pricey new smart-phones. Admittedly, smart-phones are pretty cool and can do a lot of different things, but many families cannot afford the luxury. A phone with fewer features can actually be the better fit for your budget.

Introducing the new Nokia 108 camera phone, which comes with a good sized screen, FM Radio, and MP3 player with room for a micro SD card to hold a lot of music. The camera is easy to use and photos can be shared with most other Android phones. This phone is perfect for giving to your kids so you can keep in contact. The phone comes in different colors that will appeal to them, and the interaction you can share as a family will improve if you use this Nokia phone. Last but not least, the battery life is so good that the Nokia 108 can remain on standby for about a month!

Nokia tried Android?

So more and more leaks concerning the Microsoft and Nokia event, and this is a giant one. Before this whole ordeal about Microsoft buying out Nokia, Nokia was testing out a Nokia-built Android phone. An interesting find about the Microsoft-bound company. We've never thought that Nokia's newer phones would ever be Android-based, but obviously they were thinking about it.

With me, Jacob, I remember my second phone being a Nokia MusicExpress, and I loved it. The other day I saw another one of these ancient “dumb smartphones” as it was described to me. It dawned on me that they were on the brink of smartphone status. So why didn't Nokia go with Android? It's free to develop and install on hardware compatible devices, yet they went Windows. It might have been because of a paid for contract, which is most likely. Another case is that they owed Microsoft for something, just between CEO's.

Whatever the case We think that Nokia might have really done well with Android and have let somebody else fail and get bought out by Microsoft. They might be getting bought out, but we will still provide their quality phones and continue servicing them just for you. Just stop in and check out our prices!

Asus Fonepad 7

Asus is now hopping back into the phone game with a low-cost, but FAST phone. The Asus Fonepad 7 is their latest in the Fonepad series and also is full of pros yet has a couple of cons as well. It is one of the few cheap phones that boasts the Android 4.2 OS Jelly Bean OS. With that comes a plethora of other amazing features and the ability to have blazing fast speeds by supporting 4G!

This phone is packing a whopping 1024 MB of memory, and exact gigabyte of high-speed cell phone multitasking. You can have about 10 applications open at once on your phone and run fast with ease. Then to top off with speed it has a dual-core that goes 1.6 megahertz, which is faster than low-end laptops even nowadays!

Are you tired of short battery-life? Well this phone is sporting an amazing 10 hours of actual talking use on a single charge! With the whole package of this awesome phone is the ability to be an artist by means of photography with a 5 megapixels camera and a full 1080p camcorder! One downside is no flash on the camera

Overall, besides a low resolution screen (800x1280) We will give this phone about 4 stars with the potential of 4 and a half because the price isn't mentioned in any sites we've seen.

Don't forget to check to see if FixAllCell will carry this phone in about two months for your favorite carrier!

Xperia Z1: The dream-phone

There’s a new shark in the water that other cell phone providers should look out for! We hope to have this phone’s parts in soon to able to provide you with. Sony Mobile is presenting their Xperia Z1, which is going to be a mid-year refresher for their original Xperia Z, but with a lot more cram-packed into it! When you hear about these features, you’ll be getting all of the money out of your couch to get one!
It is the picture junky's dream phone with BIONZ for mobile, which turns out to be a new algorithm to ensure less noise in pictures as well as fast auto-focus. Also having 20.7 megapixels is a dream come true for all of those photo fanatics out there reading this. Not to mention being dust and water-resistant because of it's tempered glass and one-piece aluminum frame! So take those pictures anywhere you can think of! With the common exception of underwater.
Also a new insane technology this has is call Info-eye. With this you can take a picture of a book, or a bottle of wine even, and get related information about that item! Who doesn't want that! Are you also tired of trying to get the perfect picture? Sony's got that covered with timeshift burst, which takes 61 images in 2 seconds! One before you hit the shutter button, and one second after. We still don't see how a phone can be psychic like that, but it is!

If you need this phone serviced now, come on in and we can have those parts special delivered fast to get you back to making memories or a portfolio of artistic pictures faster!

Nokia + Microsoft = ???

So here’s another mind-blowing tidbit of news that, yet again, includes Microsoft. The phone manufacturer, Nokia, is going to merge and become a subdivision of Microsoft. It seems that they’re flexing their Windows Mobile muscle again, and this time, it’s much stronger. We figure this because of real-life practices.

Say you and a friend are working on a report that needs to be on your boss’ desk in the morning. You wouldn't want to only talk to each other over the computer and try showing diagrams and not be able to include them in the report as you finish them. You want to go to one of your houses and work together in person, more gets done and your presentation will be stronger because you’ll both have gone over it at the same time.

The same principle is applying to Microsoft and Nokia, the two in the same building is going to be a very frightening team for all the other cell phone providers in the world. They working together and are most likely going to come up with even better devices and software soon. Not to mention that the current CEO of Nokia, Stephen Elop, used to work for Microsoft and knows how everything works within the corporation.

With these two friendly mobile monsters uniting, what should we expect? Here at FixAllCell, we believe greatness should be the only product coming of this. Though there is always that shadow of doubt that this might be something bad for all parties involved, including the consumers. We are very sure though that the momentum Microsoft has won’t falter, especially after Motorola making them relocate a whole warehouse to Germany!

Motorola versus Microsoft?

So apparently Motorola and Microsoft have a pretty big divide between them, not news to anyone, right? Well their latest beef with each other has taken on a whole new look that more resembles two dogs fighting over a piece of bacon. Guess what the bacon is; that’s right, money. Is that all these big companies can focus on? What’s even more annoying is that the problem with their fight is that Microsoft believed they were charged an unfair amount by Motorola for use of some very specific patents.

So the software titan, Microsoft, has had $14 million awarded to them by a jury, and that was mostly to cover the cost of relocating an entire warehouse to another country! In one aspect, everyone loves Microsoft, but hates the monopoly appearance they have. In this specific aspect though, you’ve got no option but to see the injustice dished out to Microsoft by Motorola. We still respect both and see their benefits as phone manufacturers, but doesn't it make you want to scream those two words? Stop fighting.

It appears that this isn't the only dispute they have had. Apparently they fought over some patents with the Xbox, and the price tag for those patents from Motorola was almost disgusting. $4 BILLION a year. Thank heavens a judge ruled that the appropriate price tag was actually $1.8 million. I don’t even think Microsoft would've been able to provide their payroll if it was to pay that much a year.

Both are giants and both have benefits for each of their products. When in comparison, and we’re talking specifically Windows phones and the Droid lineup, It’s almost like comparing apples to oranges, it’s all a matter of what you need or want out of the phone. If you’re in need of deciding between the two visit our website and then call or come in! We can get you set up with a perfect match!

Nexus 4 now starting at $199!

Earlier last week, the Nexus 4, one of the best unlocked Android phones on the market in our opinion, just dropped in price by $100 for all models! Apparently being the best isn't the only thing you need to be concerned about, but everyone in the world already knows that. In order to be truly great, you need to have things inexpensive as well as working, feature-packed perfection, which Google seems to have understood for a while.
The Nexus 4 8 GB model had a price last month of $299 and the 16 GB of $349. Still a very decent price, now they are respectively $199 and $249. We don't see how they are making money off of this but everyone might want to hop on this with a little reluctance. Historically, drastic price drops are shortly followed by an announcement of the new model, which is about the same price of the first price of the older model. Just a word of fair warning.
But this being the case, if you absolutely need this phone with a great service plan you can actually order it here. Just make sure you bring it to us for the best deals on service. We are actually located at a new building and are in the process of updating our what our site says. The new address is 335 24th St. in Ogden, Utah. We're just across and a little west of Brixton's.
It's giants like Google that honestly make this world a better place, providing good quality products for dirt cheap. Look forward to tomorrow's post which is going to be on the topic of Android apps that you need to want. We will be listing off the top five apps that everyone should have and exactly why you need to have a dire need to get them. We will also provide the Google Play links for them, so you can quickly install them because they are all FREE!
We hope you enjoyed this post and will be checking out the next one.

BlackBerry is What!?!

Welcome!

Welcome to the first post for the Fix All Cell blog! Check out our website at fixallcell.com For other news and offers on cell phones. Today we are going to look at something we consider a shocker and depressing. One of the original giants and leaders in smart phones is admitting defeat of sorts. This is a common place for the pioneers to be the first ones to fall. Just like Sega and TiVO, BlackBerry's director, Bert Nordberg, has stated that his company cannot survive if they challenge Android and iOS. They will however become a niche company instead, and live on that way.

The story

All of the following is a summary of the original article here, which describes exactly what Nordberg has stated about the BlackBerry corporation. Nordberg also mentioned that the BlackBerry company will be separated to different companies. Possible companies to take over different areas are IBM and Lenovo, but BlackBerry will probably keep manufacturing the software. As stated earlier in this blog post, Nordberg doesn't see that they will be able to keep up with smart phone “giants” like Apple, Samsung, and Google.
His exact words are:

"I think BlackBerry is able to survive as a niche company. But being a niche company means deciding to be a niche company. Historically, BlackBerry has had larger ambitions. But battling giants like Apple, Google and Samsung is tough."
-Bert Nordberg, Director, BlackBerry

It will definitely be depressing to see them demote themselves, but everyone does what they need to in order to keep existing. We do think however that they will survive forever in history as one of the pioneers of smart phone technologies and the ability to multitask on your cell phone.

Come back for our next blog post on Monday, and be sure to check out our website for great deals on phones, or to sell your own old phones!
